There has never been a better time to take a class at Quiltopia. We have loads of BRAND NEW, inspirational, quick finish projects you can get done in-store. With the new bridge opened up, we are sure to see alot of new faces and meet some great new friends. Many of our customers are enjoying visiting us alot more often and find it unbelievably easy, especially with a full car of friends to share the toll. Due to the affordability of our classes, we politely request that you check out our great selection of fabrics when purchasing fabric for these classes. Doing so allows us to guarantee the quality of your finished product, and ensures the continuation of quilting classes in Maple Ridge. We appreciate and depend on your support.
Slumber Party
Come on down for the fun. We're gonna make these adorable flannel slippers, and a pillowcase! These slippers are so easy and fun, you will wanna make one for all the ladies on your Christmas list. Learn how to make this beautiful quilt that will teach you the basics you will need to get started in quilting. You will learn how to choose the perfect fabrics, rotary cutting, precision piecing, applying borders, basics in machine quilting, and binding in just THREE SHORT WEEKS! Annemarie has been teaching beginners for twenty years and is known in the quilting community for her excellence in teaching methods. Annemarie has trained at the C&T Teachers retreat in California where she was able to further increase her skills. Must have basic sewing knowledge and know how to operate a sewing machine $64.95 for three classes, 1-3hour 2-2.5hour Students will receive 15% off your purchases for the beginner class! Remember, buying from Quiltopia ensures that you are getting the high quality supplies that you need to be successful. It also helps to allow our store to continue offering high quality classes in your community.
This can be considered a refresher course if you have not quilted in awhile. Otherwise, beginner's of all ages are welcome. If you do not have a machine, we can loan one to you. Policies listed below do apply. If you have a machine, but do not know how to use it, we would be happy to provide a private lesson at $19.95/hr. To start this class you need to know how to thread your machine and stitch a straight line.

It's time for our customers to go for a ride on the HQSixteen...quilting machine
Classes will be taught to two students at a time and are taught by Andrea Myton. Learn how to load the machine, thread, and free motion. Get your name in now $59.95. Class completion is required before you are allowed to rent machine.
Grommet Bag with Stephanie Englmann
The Grids & Grommets Bag is a versatile style offered in two sizes. Make the large version as a tote or the smaller bag as an attractive purse. It incorporates grommets for closing and an easy technique to create a comfortable handle. Construct it from a plain fabric using an interesting quilting pattern or piece the bag incorporating your favorite jelly roll fabric (2 1/2" wide strips) coordinates. Double the straps over your shoulder or convert it to a single strap across your body for security and convenience. Small bag 10 "H x 12" W x 4” D; Large Bag 15" H x 14" W x 8" D.

Class Registration Policies

Registration may be done over the phone and in person using visa, mastercard, cash or interac.

Class supply list should be available for pick up at the time of registration. It is the students responsibility to ensure that they have a supply list. If you register by phone, please pick up the supply list as soon as possible.

Before making special purchases for the class and precutting fabric, please double check with Quiltopia that the class is running.

Please try to pre-purchase classroom supplies. Purchase your supplies at Quiltopia to ensure quality and consistency. We politely request that you check out our fabric selection when purchasing fabric for your classes. This helps us to keep our classes so incredibly affordable.

Refunds or store credits (your choice) will be granted when class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Seven days notice is required for any student to class cancellation. When more than seven days notice is given, a refund or store credit will be granted

Ensure your machine is in good working order or prebook a machine for your class when you register.

Sewing machines use during class are free of charge (pending availability). You must purchase your class supplies at Quiltopia in order to use our machines. It is mandatory that you purchase a bobbin at $0.60 each to bring with you to class along with your Quiltopia thread.

Children over the age of 15 are welcome to all classes unless otherwise specified.

None of our classes are "sewing classes". You must have basic knowledge of the use of your sewing machine in order to take classes. When in doubt about your ability to take an upcoming class, please discuss with a Quiltopia employee to help you determine what level of class you should consider.

GST is added to all class fees.
