Sewing Machines
Elna Swiss Engineered Sewing Machines Testimonials If ever you needed a testiment as to the quality of elna machines, read on!!! - Was packing for our guild retreat, and my darling hubby was helping take stuff out to the car. Well, disaster struck, and he DROPPED my new Elna 7200! It didn't just fall, it bounced down the stairs, and bounced on the cement walk. Couldn't deal with it just then (time-wise, OR emotionally), so grabbed my trusty Elna Jubilee and went off to retreat, thinking I'd just deal with it when I got home. (my poor hubby's reputation, tho - ask the other guild members, all weekend I was laughing and telling them that Jim THREW my machine down the stairs). Got home, took a look, found a bit of cover that needed pressing back into place, and a couple scratches down to metal on bottom corners, but generally ok. Plugged it in - computer fired up ok, tried a few different stitches, all ok. The final diagnosis was that the only real damage was one broken light bulb. Have been sewing up a storm since coming back, everything is working just fine. Isn't that just amazing? - I hate to think what the result would have been with a lesser machine. It all just confirms my opinion about Elna - I was a fan before, now I'm way beyond that. Thought that you would like to know this story, share at will, Carrie Magee I have been quilting for many years and have owned 4 different well known brand machines, but it wasn't until I got my Elna that I realized just what I had been missing. The ease of using this machine, is unbelievable, as it is so user friendly. Add to that the bonus of having a thread cutter that manages to save you so much time, especially when you are foundation paper piecing, and it's a winner for sure. I love having the option of setting the speed too -that is a first for me and I use it often, especially when I'm free motion quilting or sewing straight seams, I love to put the "peddle to the metal". The machine is quiet and doesn't vibrate like some others, and I also enjoy the ease and option of moving the needle into different positions to vary my seam allowances. This sewing machine is my all time favourite and I would not hesitate to recommend it to a beginng sewer or an experienced quilter. Thank you , Elna. Penny Chan-Kent
